WHERE TO GET WHAT YOU NEED

There are two questions we get asked pretty regularly around here:

“Where can I buy [fill in the blank]?”
”Well, how far away is that?”

If you’re new to the area and working on building a cabin, looking for a morning espresso or just realized you forgot to pack sunscreen, knowing where you can get what you need (and how far the drive will be) is important.

The following places should help you get your bearings, but be sure to check out their websites or call for more information as hours can vary by the season or day.

PLAIN

Plain Hardware

Think less hardware store and more country mercantile. Offers a huge selection of hardware, lumber and propane as well as an espresso bar, pastries, giftware, clothing, seasonal goods and ski/snowshoe rentals, passes and permits.

It is said that if Plain Hardware doesn’t have what you need maybe you’re trying to do it wrong.

There is also a laundromat located directly behind.

LAKE WENATCHEE

Midway Village & Grocery (& Gas)

A small but impressively well stocked convenience store located between Fish Lake & Lake Wenatchee. You can purchase fishing and hunting licenses and supplies, passes and permits, hand-dipped ice-cream, espresso and basic groceries, toiletries and emergency items and non-ethanol gas for your small engines.
